Marvin L. Davis is a Distinguished graduate of the University of Arizona. Mr. Davis received his Bachelor’s Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Psychology in 2001. In the spring of 2001, Mr. Davis worked as an intern at the Arizona State Legislature where he gained invaluable experience studying the legislative process and analyzing the practical effects of newly proposed laws.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Davis became certified as a Youth Corrections Officer with the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections where he was able to help juvenile offenders develop long-term goals and avoid the Arizona Department of Corrections.
In 2003, Mr. Davis joined the law firm of Quarles & Brady, LLP, as a Legal Writing Intern where he was immersed in legal research and writing. In 2004, Mr. Davis received his Juris Doctor Degree from Arizona State University College of Law in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to graduation, Mr. Davis was selected as a member of the National Order of Barristers (National Honorary Society for Trial Advocacy).
After law school, Mr. Davis began working as a defense attorney for the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office where he handled a wide variety of cases including, but not limited to, the following: Vehicular Homicides, Aggravated Assaults, Misdemeanor & Felony DUI’s, Drug Cases, Forgery Cases, & Probation Violation Cases.
Mr. Davis has attended numerous Criminal Law seminars and has received specialized training in the areas of Field Sobriety Testing, Blood & Breath Testing, & Drug Recognition Evaluation.
Before establishing his private law practice, Mr. Davis performed extensive research in the area of Interstate Detainers (out-of-state holds on in-custody defendants) and wrote an article on the subject that is still referenced today.
Mr. Davis is a duly licensed attorney in the State of Arizona and is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL).
